About Tissue Culture
Plant tissue culture is a technique of growing plant cells, tissues, organs, seeds or other plant parts in a sterile environment on a nutrient medium. Plant tissue culture is widely used to produce clones of a plant in a method known as micropropagation. The different techniques in plant tissue culture as compared to the traditional methods of propagation help to produce exact copies of plants with good flowers, fruits or have other desirable traits quickly and for mass propagation of plants for commercial use all year round, irrespective of weather or season in the absence of seeds or necessary pollinators to produce seeds.
